Let it Go

Let it Go Rules and expectations of others, rules and expectations of society, rules and expectations of you towards others, are holding you back big time. Is there ever a time when something so crazy happens, that we throw up our hands and say screw it? Has the darkest part of our soul ever taken control over our critical thinking skills, and destroyed the good nature that we were brought up on? Have we been hiding our true thoughts and feelings for so long, then when society needs us to express the full breadth of our goodness, we clam up because we’re afraid of what other people might say? What will they think of me if I show up as my true self? Will, I be seen as weird? Will they accept me? Can I say that or will they think that I am crazy? Does that inner dialogue sound familiar? We have been confronted with the animalistic side of our emotions time and time again. Let’s try something different. Better put, let’s try something that we’ve been afraid of ever since loud voices start

What medicine cannot do, nature can. Mother nature knows where to hide medicine.  One way or another, Mother Nature provides many different ways to improve our health and cure our problems. Human beings have relied on plants to treat their illnesses and ailments throughout history. Forty percent of all prescription medication comes from plant extracts or synthetic plant compounds. If you count other types of natural sources such as fungi and molds, nearly three-quarters of all drugs today come from Nature. Worldwide, there are 80,000 types of plants used medicinally, although some are illegal. Nearly 20 percent of them are threatened with extinction due to habitat loss. When it comes to our well-being,  mother nature  often  knows  best.

The Chakras

Energetic Anatomy: The Chakras The practices of yoga are designed to deal with our bodies on more than just a physical level. To the yogi, the physical body is a manifestation, a reflection, of the astral or energy body. This body of energy has its own anatomy, based on seven major energy vortices called chakras. The word chakra means wheel or disk. The chakras line up along a central energy channel, or Nadi, which runs from the base of the spine through the top of the head. It is called Sushumna. The Sushumna is the energy body's primary pathway for the life force (kundalini). The chakras are nodes of connection along this pathway where other energy channels intersect. The goal of classical yoga is to awaken the kundalini energy that lies dormant at the base of the spine and make it to the highest energy vortex at the crown of the head. The Tantric approach is to stir one's awareness of that divine energy which is already awake. The yogi who can achieve and

Mudra and Mantra

Mudra and Mantra Mudra is an ancient Sanskrit term meaning "gesture." We use mudras in yoga to cultivate a greater sense of awareness of certain energetic fields within the subtle body. In other words, we can use them to help us meditate and open up our seven main chakras. The word mantra is derived from two Sanskrit words—manas (mind) and tra (tool). Mantra literally means “a tool for the mind,” and was designed to help practitioners access a higher power and their true natures. Mantra is a  sound vibration through which we mindfully focus our thoughts, our feelings, and our highest intention.
